Rich & Jodi-Ann | Deerfield Beach Maternity Session

You are in for a treat with Rich and Jodi-Ann. This is one of my favorite sessions I have ever had the pleasure of documenting — and I mean that. There is something about the way these two move together that made every frame feel effortless. We met at the pier just as the sun was starting its descent, and from the moment we started shooting, I knew this one was going to be special.

We headed to the beach as the sun melted into the water. The light was doing everything. Warm, soft, and completely unhurried — exactly the kind of evening you want wrapped around a moment this big. This was one of my most playful sessions. Joyful and lighthearted in the best way. Seeing my cousin glow like that, surrounded by that kind of love, is something I will carry with me for a long time.

Why I Shoot Maternity Sessions on Film

If you have ever wondered why I photograph with film — this session is the answer. The way film renders light, skin tones, and texture is something digital simply cannot replicate. I first fell in love with film in sixth grade back in Miami, and I have never looked back. These colors, this warmth, this feeling — that is what film does. It does not just capture a moment. It preserves it.

Deerfield Beach Pier at Golden Hour

The pier changes completely depending on the time of day, and golden hour transforms it into something else entirely. The warm light coming off the water, the open sky, the way everything softens — it creates a backdrop that feels expansive and intimate all at once. For a maternity session, that balance is everything. It is relaxed and beautiful, and it puts people at ease the moment they arrive.
