Best Nine of 2020

You asked for it, so we are sharing our Best Nine of 2020! We always love sharing our top posts from Instagram and even though 2020 was a little weird, there is still so much to love and appreciate. Here is a peek into what you all were loving in 2020!

Happy New Year!

Best Nine of 2020 from Renee Hollingshead Photography's Instagram

Eight & Nine. My sweet friend Bonnie Sen took some headshots of me right before I boarded a plane. It was so fun to see her (we’re both from the DC area) and be photographed in her new studio.

Seven. The staircase at the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore is absolutely epic. I also adore their new rose-filled flower wall that they have added to their inventory.

Six. Looks like Instagram loves when I show my face! I love this image of me that Rudney Novaes and Curved & Co took of me in a recent visit to Baltimore.

Five. Our last wedding of 2019 and the last time we would photograph for MONTHS, was this beautiful Ten Year Vow Renewal in San Diego, California. Melissa and Brian invited their immediate families to witness them renew their vows in the mountains near their home. Funny enough they were on trend with Pantone’s Color of the Year: Classic Blue!

Four. Did I mention 2020 was weird? Well Virtual Sessions were a thing and this maternity session in Atlanta when I was in Palm Beach was a first of many! So many couples and families were forced to pivot. So naturally, we pivoted with them. Offering several at home sessions via FaceTime, a camera, and a tripod. Alex and Jelizca were glowing and I’m so happy I got to help pose them via a video call and camera self timer!

Three. In a world of micro-weddings, elopements, and postponements, this image of Raynell and Ulrich entering their vintage car for their Miami Elopement was a top favorite! It was candid, totally natural, and one of those moments you just hope happen so you can quickly snap. While they got married before 2020, their story proves for anything can be planned and rescheduled 3+ times in a matter of four days!

Two. This was our first editorial of 2020 with a fabulous Washington DC team. It was important to us all to highlight and showcase the talent of so many BIPOC vendors in the area. Bringing a California Boho Vibe to a European-inspired space.

One. This is one of my favorite images of all time. My friend Rachel May photographed my family in one of our favorite vacation spots – Alys Beach, Florida. While we were battling Covid-19, Quarantine, Racial Injustice, a stressful election, and so much more — it was important to share this image when everything felt numb.
