Kara and Doug’s Intimate Inn at Perry Cabin Wedding is a wedding dream come true. We love simplicity and celebrating their union was the focus of the day. On the ever-so-gorgeous waterfront at the Inn at Perry Cabin, the day was filled with warmth and so many beautiful moments. Kara and Doug truly were able to relax and celebrate with their closest family and friends.

Guests were escorted to the venue’s new tented reception space, The Cove after a sunny ceremony on the lawn. They shared heartfelt toasts, headed to the docks for golden hour, and danced the night away.

Inn at Perry Cabin: One of Maryland’s Most Beautiful Wedding Venues

There are wedding venues, and then there’s the Inn at Perry Cabin. Set along the Miles River in St. Michaels, Maryland, this property has a quality that’s genuinely hard to put into words. The light off the water, the sailboats in the distance, the manicured grounds — it all comes together in a way that makes every single frame feel effortless.

Kara and Doug’s intimate wedding was the perfect fit for this venue. With just their closest family and friends, the day never felt rushed. That intimacy is everything — it’s what allows real moments to happen, and real moments are what film was made for.

Shooting an Intimate Wedding on Film at The Inn at Perry Cabin

I shot Kara and Doug’s day on the Contax 645 with Kodak Portra 400 — my go-to combination for waterfront weddings with that warm, late-season light. The tented Cove reception space photographs beautifully in the evening, and the dock portraits at golden hour were exactly the kind of frames I live for.
